Phil 2:6-9: Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place...

• You might think of a few people that didn't try to make a name for themselves, but ended up being very highly regarded in our age. 
• Unfortunately many of us aren't like them.  We are trapped in Project Self where we are endlessly trying to make a name for ourselves... even at the cost of the one's we love. 
• But Christ received the highest place, not through trying to make a name for Himself at any cost, but by giving Himself up at immense cost.  

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, we long to have lives of impact and influence and therefore we struggle to see how being humble servants can change the world.  Would you help us to see that you've earned a place and a name for us through your humility and that we can now humbly give ourselves away as well.  Amen
