Daily Devotional - Wednesday

1 Peter 1:2
To God's elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

  • How can God be Three in One?  I don't know - but what I do know is that only a God like this can save us.
  • God the Father chose who would be saved, the son paid so that we can be saved, and the Holy Spirit causes believers to live as saved people.
  • Although this was the work of thee distinct persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - it is still One God that saves us.
  • Or as the Westminster Confession Chapter II says: In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we praise You that you've made yourself known to us in your three part act of our salvation. We confess that our sin came at the cost of your life, but praise you that because you died we can now live eternally with you.  Amen
