Hebrews 2:14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
- Christianity is completely different from other religions in that it doesn't first expect us to go to God and become like him, but that God comes to us and becomes one of us.
- And far from preying on our fear of death Christ comes to free Christians from the slavery of that fear.
- His victory over our fear is not temporary or provisional - it is the final destruction of all evil.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, looking at the world we still see lot's of reasons to fear evil and death. We pray that we will not live in fear but in the faith that death is a door that leads to you - our exalted older brother and Lord. Amen
