Good morning,
In 2 Corinthians 12:9 Paul wrote how he pleaded with God to help him:
"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
- I'm sure there is a whole shed load of self-help books that will tell you to start every day reminding yourself that 'Im the best', 'I'm the man', 'I'm beautiful'.
- Admitting your weakness and need sounds like the wrong way to start every day.
- But, it is the most authentic way to live. Think about it: everything that you have and all that you are are gifts from God. You did nothing to deserve it. You are weak and in need of help. That's just the way things are.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me not to believe the lie that I'm the shaper of my destiny. Please free me from that pressure to think that my life depends on me. Please show me my weakness and then lead me to trust you for my life. Please show me that this is the way to real power. Amen
