Goodmorning,
Yesterday I said that we are all made for community. The type of community that the Bible gives us as a template looks more like a loving family than a religious group.
John 1:11–13 [Jesus] came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Believer are thus brought together by a divine love that leads them to love one another as brothers and sisters. We are supposed to treat one another as children of God - deeply loved by the Father in everything – sharing our money, time, resources, needs, hurts, successes, etc… We need to know each other well - our stories, our strengths and our struggles - especially in regards to belief in the gospel and its application to all of life.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, you brought believers together as a family. Help us to live as children of God and brothers and sisters of each other. Amen
Regards
