You might say "The church is full of hypocrites" You might be wrong. Here's why. Bible "[Jesus said] “Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by men" Matthew 6:1-3 - Here is the founder of the church explicitly telling his followers not to be hypocrites.
- In fact, loosing face before 'men' and acknowledging your sin is a condition for membership of Jesus' church.
- See, the church, in one sense has fewer hypocrites than any other institution because by definition the church is a haven for sinners (R.C. Sproul)
- If the church claimed to be an organisation of perfect people then it would be different.
Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, help me to discover that living for others and what they think of me not only kills me, but it hurts your church. Please forgive me and help me to enjoy your favour that I already have, all because of what Christ did in my place. Amen. Regards, Kruger PS: I've had some good feedback on the new email system.
