I don't love you And I'm sorry to say, you don't love me either. I'm not talking about you as an individual (I know some of you...), but about us as humanity. Why can I say this? Google's statistics tells us that the most populer news item yesterday were not the famine in Somalia where people are dying from a preventable hunger but the foam faced Rupert Murdoch, embarrisingly protected by his fierce wife. This is not your early morning guilt trip - it's a mirror. Bible "Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments... are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10 - God's plan for his and all people is to love one another.
- It's not possible. We use, abuse, trample and disregard each other with great ease. It comes naturally.
- But through Jesus Christ God has come to change us.
- He paid the penalty we deserved and gave us his Holy Spirit to enable us to start loving our neighbours (anyone) like He loves us.
Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, I must confess that I like to look at the humiliated Murdoch more than I like to look at starving children in Africa. Please forgive me for my lack of care and love and raise within me a desire to give, pray and do something about their and other people in need's situation. Amen Please consider donating to DEC, the Disaster Emergency Committee's East Africa fund at this address. Regards, Kruger | |
