Goodmorning,
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
The lion has roared— who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken— who can but prophesy? Amos 3:7,8
- God doesn't call a minister to preach the Gospel in the same way as a postman anonymously delivers an unopened envelope.
- No - he calls people that has experienced the Gospel themselves, who are burdened to share it with others. Perhaps a ministers job is more like an excited homeless person who shares with his friends that he has found a shelter that provides everything he needs.
- As I prepare to preach I must allow the message of the text to penetrate my heart, to excite me about God's wonderful grace in the Gospel, to the point where I can't do anything else but preach and share it with others.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you that your word is living and powerful. We pray that as we pick the Bible up you will speak to each one of us in a way that changes and burdens us to share it with others. Amen
