You need more than help
When we're in trouble, or when life gets a bit too much we often find ourselves crying out to God for help. What does He do?
Bible
If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-19 (NKJ) - We don't need help. We need the Helper.
- This is more than just a hand or a shoulder in a difficult time - it is the Spirit of Jesus Christ that dwells in a believer.
- He brings the truth of God's eternal love for us into our lives when our difficulties threaten to warp and bend our perspective.
Prayer
Father God, help us to see that we've got more that a helping hand in you - we've got the Helper. We must confess that it's not easy to admit that we need more that just a little bit of help - we need a Redeemer that lives and dies in our place. Please affirm us now with this truth - you love us, you will never leave us. Amen
