Christianity is not always characterised for the freedom it brings.

Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, help me to see that you alone are worthy of my worship. You lost everything and underwent ultimate suffering in order to save me from my own evilness. I do not want to worship things or the pleasure they bring but help me to hold them all loosely, worshiping you as the Giver instead. Amen

• The Gospel frees believers from the superstition that treat certain things and the pleasure they give as intrinsically evil.
• Perhaps we don't realise how this freedom has changed the world, especially in the West.
• We need to realise that it is not the things themselves that could be evil but our idolatrous relationship to those things.
